Institute of Museum and Library Services Grant

The Osgood Public Library has five new computers for use by members of the public. These modern, up-to-date computers provide Internet access, word processing with templates for resumes and other commonly used documents, and access to databases such as INSPIRE and Ancestry Library Edition, along with much more. This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library. While the computers were purchased by the library, funding for the software and hardware installation and networking integration were paid for through the grant funds.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation's 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. Through grant making, policy development, and research, IMLS helps communities and individuals thrive through broad public access to knowledge, cultural heritage, and lifelong learning.

Reading Suggestions

Be sure to ask library staff for reading suggestions - they see all the books that cross the circulation desk and are happy to give reading tips!
Here are just a couple of suggestions from the staff. The first is " The Ex-pats" by Chris Pavone. Kate Moore is thrilled when her husband is offered a job in Luxembourg and is ready to move and start over. She has been leading a secret double life working for the CIA. All this is behind her now - or is it? Nothing is as it seems in this intriguing thriller.
Are you ready to try an eBook from our Overdrive collection? "Utopia" by Lincoln Child is a fast paced techno thriller. What happens when terrorists invade a futuristic theme park and hold it and everyone in the park hostage to their demands? Read and find out! This hard to put down book holds your attention from beginning to end.
These are just a couple of current staff favorite reads.
